Penn State Pilots Proctored Online Testing System from Kryterion
The Pennsylvania State University's World Campus and Kryterion have gone public with results of a pilot in which students completed proctored exams online using Webassessor Online Secured Testing. The technology is intended to deliver tests without the need for an in-room proctor present.
State-wide New Mexico E-learning Program Adopts Wimba for Collaboration
New Mexico's Innovative Digital Education and Learning program (IDEAL-NM) has selected the Wimba Collaboration Suite to pilot as its statewide collaborative learning platform. IDEAL-NM will deploy Wimba's in its statewide network of K-12 and higher education institutions, which includes 89 districts and 22 college campuses, to enhance student engagement and collaboration and increase learning outcomes.
CSU System Adopts Moodle LMS Services
The California State University system is providing new learning management system support options to its 23 campuses. Through a new agreement with Moodlerooms, campuses will be offered the option of adopting the open source Moodle virtual learning environment and will be provided with hosting, training, and other support services. In addition to Moodle, the CSU system is also offering a similar service to schools that adopt Angel LMS, a commercial learning management system.
Office Web Apps Will Work on iPhones
Microsoft's Office Web applications, announced late last month at Microsoft's Professional Developers Conference, will work on "multiple platforms," including Apple's iPhone, according to a Microsoft Channel 10 blog.
