Del Mar College To Deploy Web-based Self Service

Del Mar College has selected Datatel Colleague to create a Web-based self-service capability for constituents and enhanced campus management tools for employees. The Datatel technology solution replaces a legacy administration system.

"We took a comprehensive look at the academic administrative solutions in the market over the past three years, and it was clear that Datatel Colleague was the best fit for us," said Stephen Megregian, VP of finance and administration. "Our institution is dedicated to student success, retention and lifelong relationships with all our constituents. By acquiring Colleague, the College is geared to provide advanced technology and a personalized, compelling user experience for students, faculty and employees."

In addition to Colleague, which will provide support for student enrollment and services, financial management, financial aid and human resources, the college will deploy Datatel's ActiveCampus Portal, a user-customizable workgroup collaboration and social networking system built on Microsoft SharePoint technology.

"The ActiveCampus Portal will provide critical information based on each user's needs, along with precise, real-time reports for enlightened business decision making," said August Alfonso, the college's CIO. "The Portal will also empower constituents by enabling self-service management of their accounts and academic programs via a familiar, user-friendly interface."

Located in Corpus Christi, Texas, Del Mar College has 21,000 students.

Datatel Colleague focuses on five key business areas: enrollment and student services, financial management, financial aid, human resources and institutional advancement. The company also offers professional services, consulting, and Web-based e-marketing solutions and services for the higher education market.
