IBM has introduced a new tool for migrating content from Microsoft SharePoint and other data repositories into Lotus Quickr. The new Lotus Quickr Content Integrator, which recently began shipping, is designed to bring content from existing repositories into Quickr's "team places" for collaboration and sharing.
Lotus Quickr is both a Web- and a desktop-based rich collaboration and file sharing environment available in Standard and Entry editions. The Standard edition provides a media repository/store, a set of Web services for content management and collaboration, and plugins for accessing Quickr through desktop apps. Lotus Quickr Entry is similar to Standard but geared toward personal file sharing, rather than team collaboration and multi-user document sharing.
Content Integrator is designed to integrate with and migrate data from existing collaboration and sharing environments and data repositories, including SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange public folders, Lotus Domino team room applications, and Lotus Domino Document Manager libraries. It provides a wizard-based approach to development and maintenance and allows for staged migration via "two-way incremental synchronization" between source repositories and Lotus Quickr.
Lotus Quickr Content Integrator and Lotus Quickr 8.1 are available now. Further information can be found here.
