Dartmouth Transfers Cyber Research Collection to Naval Postgraduate School

Dartmouth's Institute for Information Infrastructure (I3P) recently transferred control of its 7,000-resource cyber security library to the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Center for Homeland Defense and Security in Monterey, CA.The library will form the cornerstone of a special collection in the Homeland Security Digital Library, augmenting an existing set of security-related resources.
I3P is a national consortium of academic institutions, federally-funded labs and non-profit organizations designed to facilitate research on cyber and information security.
The I3P collection includes a search engine that directs users to research in cyber security. Although the focus is on peer-reviewed publications, the library also features supporting documents, including workshop notes, technical reports and unpublished whitepapers.
The NPS digital library has 50,000 items in its collection and reaches an audience of local, state and national security leaders as well as some 400 academic institutions.
"We are delighted to partner with the Naval Postgraduate School in this venture. The transfer will help consolidate key resources related to national security and promises to give the I3P's work lasting impact," said Martin Wybourne, vice provost for research at Dartmouth and the I3P principal investigator.
The Homeland Security Digital Library can be accessed at www.hsdl.org by anyone with a governmental, educational, or military e-mail address.
